Option for Gmail Migration to SmarterMail

What option do we pick for Gmail migration to SmarterMail? Is it other or am I missing Gmail as an option? I would think we would have an option for migrating with Gmail to choose.

Hello John. Gmail migration is not available at this time due to recent changes to the Google API as outlined here:

I was hoping this wasn't the case as the client is tired of Google but will only migrate to us if he can have his history. :(

John,

A solution for this until we find a workaround for Google integration would be to download all mail, contacts, calendars from Gmail using a client like Outlook.  Then, you could take that PST in Outlook and import it up to SmarterMail using the upcoming SmarterMail release hat has MAPI.

Gmail supports POP3 and IMAP. Why can't it be migrated that way?
Use the "Email Retrieval" option in SmarterMail account.

For whatever reason it doesn't work. That was the first try. We ended up doing the Outlook method and then uploading. Slow and painful but that's what we ended up doing.
