Norton Password Manager breaks webmail login
Problem reported by Millennium Systems - 2/11/2020 at 10:57 AM
Not A Problem
Similar to the issue with Grammarly a while back, the Norton Password Manager extension is breaking the web mail login (tested in Chrome and FF) by deleting whatever you type in the u/p fields.

We investigated this issue earlier this week, and it appears that the problem is on Norton Password Manager's side. We have communicated the issue to them, and they are currently investigating the issue.

Currently, we suggest working around the problem by temporarily disabling the Norton extension, signing into SmarterMail with "Remember Me" enabled", then re-enabling the extension. As long as you don't log out of SmarterMail, this will bypass the problem.

We haven't heard any more from Norton about the status of this issue. It may be beneficial for you to comment on the thread that we created on Norton's support forum. The forum thread can be found at https://community.norton.com/en/forums/password-manager-not-working-angular-login-page.

Or use a better password manager :) I'd trust a crackhead with my passwords before I'd trust Norton with anything.

I just received a communication from Norton that they have identified the cause of this issue in the Norton Password Manager. They will provide further updates on their forum once they have completed the fix and have set a release date. Again, the relevant forum thread can be found at https://community.norton.com/en/forums/password-manager-not-working-angular-login-page.

Since Norton has confirmed that this issue exists in their Password Manager, I am changing the status of this thread to "Not a Problem".
