Can I set a default Hostname when creating an email domain?
Question asked by Michael Muller - 11/13/2019 at 2:46 PM
Answered
Whenever I create a new email domain in SM it defaults to mail.[domainname.com] and I'd like to have it default to one standard hostname. I am not providing custom hostnames for my clients, as it creates too much SSL work, and makes migration difficult.

Also, is it possible to set the hostname for all my customer domains in one shot? I've manually updated about ten of them so far, but have 163 total. I'm not going in and updating every domain if I don't have to.

In fact, what's that field for? Autodiscovery?

Thanks

Absolutely Michael. Please log in to Smartermail as a system administrator and click the ... menu and choose Domain Defaults. From there you can configure the hostname that will be assigned to all newly created domains:

Once the domain defaults have been updated you can then use the Propagate button to push these settings changes to all domains.
