Missing Report Data
Problem reported by Mike Densem - 9/29/2019 at 8:56 PM
Submitted
I recently shifted Smartermail to new hardware and thought I'd copied everything over.
I am now missing report data (for all reports) for a period of time.
Does anyone know:
a) where report data is stored
b) how to rebuild the reports (from logs?)

Hello Mike, this report data should be kept in the Stats directory within your domain storage locations I believe. This may be different depending on the version you're running though, so if you can confirm this information I can get back to you with the specific location. Thanks!

SmarterMail Enterprise Version - 16.3.6989

Yes there is a stats directory for each domain.
Is there a way to re-calculate the logs (perhaps a config edit)?

I believe we can delete the contents of the stats directories with the service started, then give it a couple of days to start rebuilding data. Let me confirm for you though and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi Kyle, Can I go ahead and delete the stats directories?

Sorry for the delay on this Mike! I was able to delete the files inside of the Stats directory for the affected domain and my stats were rebuilt over time after I started the system service back up. This data appears to include data going back some time, so I am wondering if this is being built from another location. Please let me know how that works out for you.

I deleted the Stats files in a domain and it rebuilt them pretty quickly. That is all good.
However, it is the global reports (all domains) that is missing a period of time.

I have deleted (after backing up) the SmarterMail/Service/Stats files. It has not yet rebuilt these, and now I have NO global stats.
Hopefully they'll rebuild over night - otherwise I return them from backup.

Mike, thanks for keeping me posted on this. I'm sorry to hear your reports have not yet regenerated, this likely will take some time. I've not finished my testing on the system level reports though, and hope to have feedback on this soon.
