SmarterStats regularly fails to detect & import new log files

Running into a persistent issue with my install of SmarterStats. Every few months, seemingly at random, it will fail to detect any new log files for certain sites (it also seems to be random which ones are effected) & won't import them. When I view the site while logged in as an admin account, the Log Analysis shows:

Status: Waiting for new data
Logs Imported: 4/1/2014 to 2/6/2019

However, I've checked & verified that the folder (which the site is configured to check for log files) contains logs up to the current date. In the past, I've been able to "trick" SmarterStats into working again, usually by either renaming one of the log files, or moving them to a temporary folder & configuring the site to look there for log files, or by temporarily changing the log wildcard character.

But none of those tricks seem to be working this time, SmarterStats is still failing to pick up the new log file. Is there a fix or workaround for that - ideally, one that would prevent the problem from re-occurring every few months...?

Hello Smarty Pants! Could I ask for some additional details on this one?

1. Where do you house the log files? Is this a shared directory or somewhere local to the server?
2. Are the log files zipped when added to the directory? How are they added to the directory?
3. Are you running the latest release of SmarterStats, and if not can you provide me your build number?

I have had some similar results with installs I've worked on, and some of my own, and in most cases there is a solution available. The trick is figuring out whats going wrong, and then we can go from there! Often results come with simplifying the storage solution used for the log files to make it more readily accessible to SmarterStats. If there is anything of note within the log files - this might help point us in the right direction as well. Thanks in advance, and have a great day!
