SmarterMail v15 - Server Blacklist Check

Good day everyone,

I have a question, anyone know if I can just add more Blacklist checks to the BlacklistAwareConfig.xml and have SmarterMail check those as well? Or are we just limited to using the ones that are listed?

Hello,

You can add new blacklists ( RBL's [Real-time Blackhole List]) in the web interface. This will keep you from needing to edit the config file directly.

Thank you

Good afternoon Tony,

Sorry if my question was confusing with adding the RBL's to the Spam Administration, what I was asking for was the checking the Server Blacklist Check listed under Security -> Server Blacklist Check. This is for checking if our server is listed on a RBL or not. Instead of manually checking our server IP on various RBLs. Sorry for the confusion. I was just wondering if I could edit the config file and add more than what is there. Or if that would not be an option if they have something programmed specifically for that list.

Hello,

Yes you can edit this file as you desire.
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\Service\BlacklistAwareConfig.xml
Please remember to make a backup just in case. We do have a task to have this pull from the configured RBLS that will be implemented in the future.

Thank you

Ok, thank you Tony. I appreciate you getting back to me on this. I will test it out and let you know how it goes.

Thank you
