Does space (" ") is a special character?

Hello,

IMHO space can be called special character but it looks like SmarterMail is not taking it as one of them. One of my clients which where creating new mailbox tried to use password where he used special character but SmarterMail reported that his password does not met password requirements with error "Password does not meet password requirements: a symbol". When he has changed space to other special character it worked. So my question is does space is or it is not a special character? According to w3.org it is:

http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/html3/specialchars.html

but can someone from SmarterTools devs check this problem?

Regards

Space is not included as a special character for password symbols.  The following are acceptable password symbols:

` (grave accent)   ~    !   @  #   $   %   ^   &   *   (   )   -   _   =   +   [   {   }   ]   \   |   <   ,   .   >   /   ?

In my opinion this should be changed to a feature request to add space as a special character. If there is a standard out there then why not follow it?

This is a simple addition, and so I will change this thread to an Idea and add space as a special character for password symbols.
