how to enable logs in smartermail 5.x

hi,
i have still an old version of smartermail (5.5) clean installation from last week.
when i check the logs under manage > view logs i dont see any information.
when i check the log files- empty.

smtp: i see at the top of the screen: "A log file was not found for the selected criteria "

deivery:

any idea how can i enable smartermail to write logs those logs?
