Forward mail munging

I have an odd case and I hope somebody can help me. We are currently using SmarterMail 15, but if the solution requires using something else in between, I have disposable domain names to use wherever.

We are setting up WHMCS for the billing and ticketing solution for our web hosting clients. The ticketing system allows Admins and Agents to reply to an E-mail generated by the system to update the ticket. Because it maintains the ticket number in the subject and it recognizes the E-mail addresses of the admins and agents, it can do that. However, by design an E-mail sent from an admin or agent to the ticketing E-mail address will get ignored to prevent extraneous tickets from getting created.

Here is the issue. We often have people E-mail us directly things that should go into the support system. I need to find a way to forward such E-mails to the support E-mail in a way that when the support E-mail gets the message, the From: header is the person who sent the original message and not the person who forwarded it. I was thinking I could setup an E-mail address to forward to that would do the header munging, and then it would forward to the support E-mail. I don't know if this can be done or how to do it. Again, we use SmarterMail, but I will accept any solution, even if I have to set the forwarding E-mail address up on a separate domain on a completely different system.

Thank you for any help or suggestions you can provide.
