Hi Tim. Going from 12x to 16x should be pretty straight forward. We have done a few 12x to 16x upgrades with no issues. If you were using a version prior to 7.5, the upgrade path would be to first go from 7.5 to 15x then 15x to 16x. The reason for this is because the file structure of SM changed after 7.5. Since you are already on 12x, you should have no problems going to 16x. I hope this helps. Thanks!
