Mixed content over SSL connection
Question asked by Webio - 5/23/2018 at 4:54 AM

Hello,

is there any plan to handle mixed content emails in webmail which is being opened over SSL connection? Currently in Chrome when moving between folders and opening message with remote content from not secured connection just green padlock is being changed with information icon in a circle but who knows what will come later. Maybe Chrome or other browsers start to show popups with informations that website is not secure and will block remote requests for certain not secure content elements?

Thanks

Good question. We noticed this ourselves recently and so have customers. Maybe due to recent browser updates?

Doing some initial testing, it appears that somehow Gmail keeps the secure setting even with a message that has unsecured content (pics).

I see the warning as well on the login page, which is the most important place to have the padlock. After I'm logged in, I get the padlock though. This needs remedied or at least acknowledged.

IMHO login page is correctly configured on default SM side. Do you have any customizations done to login page?

Yes, that was it! There was a rouge image that had apparently been attempted to load in the past on Login Display. I just removed all the images, and added them back and the page is secure now.
