Thanks for the feedback! At this time, these features are not available with SmarterMail's File Storage. I do think they'd make a good addition to SmarterMail though, and I have some suggestions for improving this feature as well. I've put in a request for the following items. Please let me know if there are any other additions/changes you'd like to be considered.
User interface side:
- Add a shortcut to email the download link from the File Storage stored file card. (I imagine this would work similarly to the Link File option in the email compose window; it would automatically open a compose window with the file link in the message body.)
- Log the download IP, Date and Time.
- Allow users to limit the number of times file can be downloaded.
- In the Stored File modal, add the Copy URL icon next to the Public Download Link.
- Show an indicator of which files are password protected and allow sorting by password protection.
Download page:
- Add an indicator that the download is processing in the background. When you enter in a password and click submit to download, the file downloads in the background with no indication to the user that the file is actually downloading until it's ready.
- Swap the SmarterMail logo for what is configured in the system/domain level Login Display Customization or allow admins to otherwise customize it.
- Allow the message on the download page to be changed to comply with legal.
- Add an auto-focus to the password field.
I've changed this thread type from a Problem to an Idea to facilitate tracking on these features. (Though we may need to break these up into multiple threads based on the development response.) I'll keep you posted on any updates!
