IP filter for admin account behind Proxy

We are running the latest version of Smartermail 16 where I would like to setup an IP filter for admin accounts. Smartermail is running on our IIS server is behind a proxy. The problem now is that Smartermail seems to checks the source IP (which is the proxy server) so the IP filter fails. Normally software should also check the X-Forwarded-For header. I checked the network packets and the proxy server correcly adds the following header
X-Forwarded-For X.X.X.X
Where X.X.X.X is the real originating IP address. Is there any way to configure smartermail to also check this header? Other sofware behind the proxy does not seem to have problems with the X-Forwarded-For header.
