Sync email from client to smartermail server

Hi All,

I'm in an odd predicament where by i have emails in the email client up to date. There was an issue with the email server and it had to be restored from an image two months old, meaning that there is two months of emails missing. We have disabled imap and pop to allow users to access the webmail for new emails and the missing mails are accessible on the clients. The problem is that we need a way to repopulate the email server, there is only a small number of email boxes so manually syncing each user is not a problem if it is possible.

Is there a way to sync from client to server?
Will clients delete mail locally if it is not present on the server?
Will smartermail repopulate emails if i can retrieve them from  a newer backup and 'dump' them in the SM dir for emails?

Create an IMAP account for each of the accounts you wish to sync FROM, and then, after connecting, drag the messages from the POP account to the IMAP account.

This will allow you to put the messages back on the server.

Once you have re-synced, you can delete the IMAP account from the client.

Thanks Bruce for the reply,

Is there any settings i should be verifying first that could allow clients to sync and delete the local client emails instead of putting them back on the server?

Also the new emails which are on the server but not synced with the clients will they be synced to the client or deleted on server?

Just need to be sure everything will work smoothly and not loose emails

Thanks
