Proposed
Hi,

with my checking,

it seems only mailbox user can set Autoresponder as "Limit response to once daily",

and your document http://help.smartertools.com/SmarterMail/v16/Default.aspx?qq=%2fSmarterMail%2fv16%2fTopics%2fUser%2fSettings%2fMySettings%2fMyAutoResponder.aspx ; shows "It is HIGHLY recommended that you keep this option turned on to avoid the potential of your email address, your domain or even potentially your entire mail server from becoming blacklisted by an ISP.",

but you know, mailbox user may not care it,because it is system admin's business.

i want to ask if you can add features to let system admin to set as following,
and domain admin/mailbox user can not change it:

(1) "Limit response to once daily" can be set at system admin aside
or
(2) limit auto response ones per x minutes(ex: 60 minutes response to one sender one time)

thanks alot

Joe,

I will be glad to pass your feedback along to our SmarterMail team.

SmarterMail does have configurable settings to restrict when the Auto-Responder is sent out. If you sign into the SmarterMail web interface and navigate to Settings -> Antispam -> Options, here you should see a setting for AutoResponders, you will want to ensure this options is set to 'Require Message Pass SPF' this will ensure that any user sending to a user with autoresponders must first pass an SPF check before sending the autoresponder out. If a sender comes in spoofing a From address from an unauthorized IP address, the autoresponder will not send out.

This will prevent you from landing on the BackScatter RBL, as well as being blacklisted with various IP's for sending unauthorized auto-responders.

I hope this helps.
