Am sure this is quite obvious to all, but me... Online Help

So when I click on SM or ST, online help... it takes me to online help(not the  Knowledge Base, but the online help).
Has node side, topics, sub-topics....
Where and how do I set that up?

Hey, Merle. There's no need to set it up, SmarterTools hosts that and keeps it updated. While you can add your own help link, if you want -- for example, push people to your KB system -- you can do that as well. But the actual online help is managed and maintained by us.

As an aside, since I mentioned it: if you DO want to add in a custom help link alongside the included online help, log in as a system administrator, go to Settings --> General. On the Custom Help card, add in the custom URL, like your portal URL and then a title for the link (e.g., KB Articles).

Thank you for all the information... One of the reasons I was asking is, we need to provide something similar to our clients, for our products. Am guessing this online help is not generated by ST ?

Sorry if I'm not understanding, but the product help is generated by us, yes. Anything added as "Custom Help" and linked from within our products would be generated by you or an outside source.

<grin> again.. probably just myself not explaining well...
We have 4 products that are desktop based. We create manuals or online help, similar to SmarterMail's Online Help.. where there are nodes... running along the left side..
You click on " Getting Started " as an example, and it tells the user how to install our software or what the requirements are. {For example, the links to your online help our on our website to go to, as example, to help our users.. use your software. THEN there is the knowledge base, community et al. We want to have links similar to that, embedded in our software.. that shows the same similar links = to our own online help... and then also to the knowledge base, community et a}

Just trying to replicate the same online experience for the user's of our desktop software, that you have for (as an example Smarter Mail). The knowledge bases work, yes.. but to present something in the same contiguous manner as your online for (again as example) , the online help, with the left hand navigation.. was (is) what I am referring to.

If this still doesn't make sense.. no worries... Am sure I am not explaining it well...
We use HelpNDoc .. to build that side... right now.. and was just looking for some integration to reduce the work load between the two sites.

I do appreciate the speedy responses <grin>
