incoming gateway forward domain to uri in stead of IP

a customer of mine wants me to forward the mail to o365 because he is satisfied with our spam filter services. 
o365 only delivers a name for the mx record not an IP number
I guess that there is a cluster of servers with IP numbers for o365 
 
So my request is to be also able to use a URI to foreward mail as incoming gateway.
is that possible?

It doesn't appear that this is possible. I'll be glad to bring this to our developers attention to see if it's something we can get added for you in a future release.

Speaking with the developers this afternoon they have added a feature request for SmarterMail 17 for allowing hostnames instead of IP addresses for incoming gateways.
