Rebuild Archive

We have observed that some of our servers generate 40-50 Archive Zip files of 20-50 MB each daily. Which means our daily archive is 2-3 GB. These files are moved to NL-SAN storage from SAS storage on monthly basis.
 
We have following issues...
 
  • What if the .dat files are not copied and only .zip files are copied. How do we regenerate the .dat file. Which we believe is index and is required for searching the archive.
  • We have also seen some daywise folders containing email files copied to backup location. How do we re-index these folders to generate zip & dat files.
SmrterMail 14.5 Enterprise on Windows 2008 R2.
