Force to use HTTPS
Question asked by Muthunallu Raja G - 6/30/2017 at 2:32 AM

Hello,

Can anyone please guide me on enforcing users to use https.

We are using Smartermail 13.x Server and we have a Comodo SSL Wildcard Certificate for my domain: something.com and using it for my subdomain called: mail dot something dot com

Followed the steps mentioned:.
community - a88694 - smartermail-update-removes-iis-rewrite-rules.
community - a87746 - http-to-https.aspx

Still redirection is not working in my case. Am i missing something.?
Funny part of this, i am able to see URL as https mail dot something dot com with the error below and no login page of smartermail.

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Thanks,
Raja

Hello. I always use a program called URLRewrite in IIS to force https. It works perfectly every time. You can get this program from the Web Platform Installer in IIS. I found a really great YouTube video with perfect instructions on how to download and set it up. My forum account will not let me post the video here, but if you want the link to the video, email me directly at my address in my signature. Thanks!
