[FEATURE REQUEST] SM16 Show 2nd-Level Navigation in Left Menu
Idea shared by Shaun Peet - 6/7/2017 at 1:14 PM
Proposed
One of the things that I originally thought was confusing, and has now been confirmed as confusing by several of my users, is that certain pages with large buttons at the top of the page (like the Spool page in the Admin -> Manage area, and the Accounts page in the User -> Domain Settings -> Accounts page) are not obvious enough that they are clickable.

We've had several people ask us where they manage their aliases, which is evidence of this.  I'm not suggesting to get rid of the buttons as navigation, however, it might be beneficial to add the sub-pages in the left-hand navigation.  Something like:

Manage
--------------------
Spool
--Overview
--Spool
--Waiting To Deliver
--Spam Quarantine
--Virus Quarantine
--Throttled Users
--Throttled Domains
User Activity
Connections
--All Connections
--SMTP
--IMAP
--POP

... etc

I realize that may not be easy since none of those 2nd-level pages have their own URLs and are instead just tabs on the page.  But the way they are now just doesn't seem to be obvious enough to most people, as much as I like the "live tile" type of approach.  Particularly the Domain Settings -> Accounts page - the buttons at the top aren't obvious to be clickable.

Thanks for the consideration.

Thanks for the feedback, Shaun! We'll take this into consideration.

Hi Andrea,

Just wondering if this thread can be changed to either under consideration or declined?  I hope it's still under consideration since we do get more than a handful of users mentioning that they're lost in trying to find the 2nd level navigation.  Thanks,

Shaun

Hey Shaun, I unfortunately don't have an update regarding this request. I haven't heard of any changes to the navigation pane planned for the immediate future, but I also don't believe it's been rejected.
