Smartermail SSL/TLS

Hi
 
We have just enabled these on POP3 and SMTP ports, however smartermail still allows a plaintext pop3 login, how do we force it to use SSL?
 
A security scan also flags up this issue - SMTP Service STARTTLS Plaintext Command Injection
 
Does anyone have experience of fixing these?

I am just curious as to whether or not there has been any discussion on this. I am also trying to track this down as well.
