Duplicate emails - appearing

Hello everyone:
this is driving me nuts i am getting duplicate emails from users within the domain and also outside the domain.  This does not happen all the time but when it does the user gets up to  or 6 duplicates of an email.
I am running smartermail 15.5
the latest outlook update is installed
running fully patched windows 7 clients
removed antirius from outlook on all user computers.
running Barracuda spam filter
Also the duplicate also show in webmail
any help regarding this greatfully appreciated

Hi Lorne.  Are these POP3 accounts?  If so, I would check this MS Support Page.

These are both imap and pop3
