General/Advanced Spam Settings

Hello All,

I am running Smartermail 15.5 on Windows 2012 system. I wanted to know if anyone could provide me some general or even advanced spam settings that you had really good success with. Some of my customers are complaining of spam and I wanted to try and tighten things up. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Frank. Most of our customers use a combo of Declude (100% Free), Message Sniffer (Free trial, paid subscription) and SmarterMail's SMTP incoming connection checking (using a few very reliable RBLs). This seems to work extremely well for people if these things are configured properly. Hello Linda,

Thank you for the response. I did download your Declude can you explain a little more about it and how it works with smartermail? I didn't see any help info on the site and I have heard of this but never used it. Do you have to use message sniffer with declude? And if so can I buy message sniffer direct from the company vs buying it from Smartermail? Yes if I choice to go down this path I will need help implementing this so I know it done correctly.

Hi Frank. I apologize for not seeing this until now. I never received an email from ST telling me that you responded to my post. I sincerely apologize. Hello Linda, yes I would love to know more about it, how it works, how accurate it is and how much work has to go into getting it to work nicely. Would you be able to tell me more? Thanks!

Sure Frank! Declude is very easy to install and configure. It is also very easy to plug into SM. It's literally a check box that you need to check in SM's antispam administration area to enable it once you install it on your server. If you have a phone number, I will be happy to call you to explain how it works. It's much easier over the phone.
