Export inactive or Print inactive users
Question asked by Joshua Rosen - 1/15/2017 at 10:22 PM

Dear Smartertools:

There MUST be a way you can create an export or print button on the "Inactive Users" page. Additionally, it would be MOST helpful if we can select the accounts and instead of delete, disable.

Until that is done, does anyone know a way of how i can accomplish this? I have 300+ accounts i'd like to disable, based of course on their last login. Unfortunately, I can't even print a report or export a list of users. The default inactive users page does not let you print it's entire page, or export.

Thanks

Have you tried using the built in browser print window with CTRL + P. This may not give the best formatted view but it will be something you can print if the page looks fine in the preview window.

Matt - I've tried that, and thats exactly the problem. It prints whatever is view-able on that page. THats not going to cut it.. Is there any other way - I just don't see how this never crossed anyone else's plate in an enterprise. It's a must feature.

I didn't want to leaving you hanging with nothing. If you are using Chrome, go to your inactive users page. Right click near the grid of users, hit Inspect. Go to console on the little window that pops up.
Copy and paste this into the console line.
var str = "Email Address, Last Login\r\n";$("table > tbody").children().each(function(){str += $($(this)[0]).text().replace(/(\r\n|\n|\r)/gm,"").replace(/\s+/g, ",").substring(1)+"\r\n";});window.prompt("Copy to clipboard: Ctrl+C, Enter", str);
Hit enter. You should see a window pop up. You can copy and paste this into a file and call it, "inactive_users.csv". You should be able to open this file in Excel. You can also just paste it into a word processor or notepad. I have included a video of how to do this.

This did not work. Is there any other way we can do this?

Bump. I've got over 1000 users who i need to manage, and a simple "inactive report" really is useless if I can't do anything with it. Is there anyone that can help me with this?

In SmarterMail 16, there are Disable, Enable, and Delete options.  Unfortunately, many of my "Inactive Users" have Forwards and are collecting their email at another address.  The email address is being used, even though no one is actively logging into the account.  Can you add a filter to exclude mailboxes that have Forwarding set up?

Thanks,

Dave
