Can't log in as admin

So I stopped the service, edited mailConfig.xml to remove the admin pw lines (should I have left the comment lines that surround the two admin (user/pw) lines?), restarted service, tried "admin/admin" and still not working. CAN log in as other users, just not admin.
Getting error box: "Login.aspx. Page not found or unknown exception"
SmarterMail version 10.7.
Do I reinstall it?
Anything special to save or do before reinstall?

Aha tried to log in local, on the server. Error:
Cannot load the "RichEd20.DLL" DLL into memory.]
