Hi,

Have recently upgraded to SM 15.x
Anyone seeing spike in below as high as 8000-10000ms
pbl.spamhaus - 127.0.0.10
sbl.spamhaus - 127.0.0.2
xbl.spamhaus - 127.0.0.4

Thanks in advance

Hi Hemen.  I just checked all three of these RBL's on one of our servers, and I'm not seeing any delays.  I would try switching your DNS at Settings >> General Settings to Google's 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4.
Afterwards, stop/start the SmarterMail service and then see if the response times improve.  I hope this helps.

Hi Rod,
I have set above, ideally how much time it should take to come down to normal ? and is it OK to use above DNS for regular use
I usually keep it blank so as to take from network automatically.

Thanks

Keep in mind that you might get false positives and/or timeouts when you use public DNS servers for RBL lookups.

Bruce touches upon it in more detail here: http://portal.smartertools.com/community/a444/smartermail-antispam-settings-document-updated.aspx

To note that i am using Antimalware from Malwarebytes which keeps blocking unwanted dns queries too, not sure if this has to do anything with it.

Those 3 all come from SpamHaus, perhaps you have exceeded their free DNSBL usage limit and they are throttling requests from your DNS server?

We signed up for CommTouch a few years ago and that has made RBL management mostly a thing of the past for us. I believe SmarterMail used to offer a 30 day trial if you want to measure its effectiveness.
