DKIM Failing
Problem reported by Chintan K - 5/25/2016 at 4:57 PM
Submitted
I would like to report  issues regarding emails being tagged as spam due to DKIM key when the email is sent to multiple recipients. Smatermail detects the DKIM key as invalid if its sent to multiple recipients where as when it is sent to single recipient it passes the DKIM check and delivers the email normally.

Please also note that problem is  while receiving the emails in Smarter Mail. The email is sent from different server.

Below are the Logs for the same:

There are lots of reasons DKIM can fail. Try these links, and see if any of them help you: ===================== https://portal.chicagonettech.com/kb/a171/smartermail-antispam-settings-document.aspx ===================== https://portal.chicagonettech.com/kb/a116/why-am-i-having-problems-getting-my-e-mail-delivered.aspx ===================== https://portal.chicagonettech.com/kb/a39/how-does-chicagonettech-control-spam.aspx ===================== You also need to make certain that the FQDN of the SmarterMail server, the name of the server that is registered on your SmarterMail license, is properly mapped to a PUBLIC IP ADDRESS, and that your HOST HEADER RECORDS contain the following variable, as the FIRST ITEM in the POP, IMAP, and SMTP OUT protocol settings. Yahoo! has started blocking messages which do not contain that data. ... #HostName# #TimeUTC# UTC | POP3 server ready | SmarterMail Enterprise 15.0.5976 ===================== Finally, make certain you have setup FEEDBACK LOOPS with all of the providers listed under the feedback loop section of www.unlocktheinbox.com. ... There's a whole lot more, but this should give you a good place to start. - Bruce Barnes

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the reply.

My main concern is, if the same sender is sending email to a single recipient, the DKIM passes BUT it fails when sent to multiple recipients ! In this scenario, the sender mail server is a remote mail server and ours is a recipient mail server which is a Smartermail server.

Appreciate your insights on this.

Chintan, I was curious about this so I tried to duplicate, but could not. I used Google Apps to send to SmarterMail and DKIM passed for both a single recipient and multiple recipients. Using 15.0.5983.
