Thanks for reaching out with your question. While SmarterStats can be run on an Azure platform, one thing you need to ensure is that you keep a static IP address. If your environment isn't set up correctly, your outbound IP address can change and your install could potentially lose activation because of this. Azure actually addressed the reported issue regarding static outbound IP's with their App Service environments for Premium service plan holders.
