Adding forwarder to email account
Problem reported by Ray Cook - 4/25/2016 at 7:22 AM
Not A Problem
If you add a forwarder you are asked to confirm a mismatched password even if you haven't touched a password.

Try this on an account that already has a forwarder and just save it without changing it.

This effectively means you can't add a forward without knowing the password and if you don't you'll have to reset your passwordl This is very annoying. SM 15.0.5949

Hey Ray. Can you please provide some more clarification on the setting you're referring to? The one I'm thinking of is the "Forwarding Address" found at Settings > My Settings > Account Settings > Forwarding tab. However, this does not require me to enter a password to update.

Yes. In previous versions of SM it didn't for me. But using Firefox suddenly it does.

I have now tried in Chrome and that is ok.

Here's some more detail on this.

I am logged in as SysAdmin impersonating a user account.

However, whereas in the past if I did this, I really am impersonating that account, now it shows me the details I would expect if I had clicked 'Manage' domain, because I can see all the user accounts and I then select the one I want to update. I didn't really notice that before.

So if I select a user to update, then Edit, move to Forwarding tab, click Save - that's when I get the problem in Firefox. But now I have another problem which is 'how do I really impersonate a User' because this is not working as of old.

So there must be some setting in FF which is expecting a password in the Confirm field, which is a problem I'll probably be able to solve and does not appear to be a SM issue. But now the impersonate is - did that change? What am I doing wrong?

Just further on the password issue - FF is autocompleting the password field but not the confirm password field - if I blank the password field and Save it's fine. So apologies for misreporting this.

However, the impersonation issue still stands.

ok - I think I'm being 'real dumb' as I just noticed a new 'Impersonate' tab that wasn't there in 14 - so it was a little confusing - I didn't notice this had changed in 15.x

Hey Ray! Thanks the follow ups. I'm glad the password issue is not a problem after all. Impersonation DID change a bit in version 15.x. In addition to the "Impersonate" button on the Users grid, now, when you impersonate a user, you'll always have access to Domain Admin settings for quick changes/impersonations. This is why, when you impersonate an end-user, you see the Domain Settings folder.
