smartermail 15 delivery report error

Hello,
 
I have just upgrade smartermail 14.3 to 15 version. Now the delivery log indicate some errors
 
The process cannot access the file 'E:\SmarterMail\Spool\SubSpool0\40032019.eml' because it is being used by another process.

Do you have anti-virus software installed? If so, have you excluded all of the SmarterMail directories? The only thing that should ever access SmarterMail is SmarterMail.

Which antivirus I have exclude smatermail directory

Both the SmarterMail directory, and the SmarterMail program directory. They should never be accessed by any other programs.

Seeing this as well on SM 15. I have exclusions for the entire SmarterMail folder in my anti-virus and I disabled it completely just to be sure while testing. The message does ultimately get delivered though. Looks like an intermittent race condition...

I have found another antivirus error

I'm seeing a variation of this which began after upgrading from 14.5 to 15.0.5962.  The SmarterMail directory had always been excluded from virus scanning, however as a test I disabled antivirus completely and the errors continue.  However, the emails are spam checked and properly delivered following this.

We are seeing this as well since updating to 15.0.5962. Antivirus has always been excluded from the smartermail directories. At least every second mail in the spool is being affected.
 
As mentioned above, we too have disabled antivirus totally and the problem persists. We have completely uninstalled and reinstalled and still no change.

We are seeing the same issue since update last night can anyone advise if its safe to downgrade ? and which version to downgrade to, we also do not use AV on our server so that can not be the issue.

I'd give the release we got coming soon a try. This is an issue caused by the grabbing of stats from messages as they pass through the spool. One part of SmarterMail is trying to access the file (to grab stats for the spool dashboard) and the other is the delivery process. Sometimes this will cause the error below.

I just upgraded to SM 16.3.6642 and just started getting these too...

Disk is not full. OS level Antivirus is not scanning SM directories.

I had the same issue as well with SM 15.7.6638 on the first time I installed it as an upgrade (followed the correct uninstall prev. version procedure).
 
To fix it: We uninstalled/reinstalled the same version and then Cyren/Commtouch started scoring spam correctly again.
