Where is the MSI installer?

We used to work with the MSI-installer of SmarterMail for new installations and update. For both tasks we're using our software deployment. SmarterMail will be deployed silently with no user interaction. Therefore the MSI file was used instead of the exe file.
 
Unfortunately SmarterTools does not offer the download of the MSI file anymore. Any reason for this?

While I am not answering for SmarterMail, I suspect the MSI installer may have been discontinued because of the new requirements that the installer check for several required files and prerequisite software.

Also an MSI installer can check dependencies and would throw an error, mostly an 1603, if eg. the libraries are not installed. Form a technical point of view, this wouldn't a reason to discontinue the MSI installer.

The MSI installer was removed from the Downloads page because we noticed too many customers using it incorrectly and it caused issues with their installations. You can find it below:
