SmarterMail v13.0.5430 XMPP Issue
Problem reported by David Fisher - 11/20/2014 at 9:15 AM
Resolved
Hi,

I upgraded to SmarterMail v13.0.5430 minor upgrade and I lost all my contact on XMPP, I uninstalled, rebooted and installed again, still same issue.  So I downgraded back to v13.0.5420 and my contacts came back!

Any known issues at the moment?  I am not running TLS on it, I see the changelog has XMPP related fixes.

Thanks,
-dave

What client are you using?

I just tested connecting and everything is showing up as normal. Try going into the logs to see what is being passed between the server and client. I can see the roster xfer from server to client.

This could possibly be the omission of the From field sent by clients XMPP during the Bind request some clients like Trillian do this. We have fixed this issue and the Bind requests get processed correctly now. The next minor release will have a fix for this.
I'm not sure if this is the issue here but if you can let us know the client we can test it out.

Hi,

Yep I am using Trillian, so that is probably what the issue is.

Looking forward to the next build that fixes this!

Using Trillian v5.5.0.18 for Windows, If you can send a "beta" build my way, I can let you know if it is fixed or not.

Thanks,
-dave

This is the most recent custom build (11-19-14) and has those fixes that were made. Let me know how this works for you.
