odd issue with mail moving to junk folder automatically
Problem reported by Marc Frega - 11/6/2014 at 8:27 AM

I have a user who when he gets mail from another user it shows up in the inbox for about 3 seconds and then it goes into the junk folder.

Both users are using Webmail and both users are on the same server but different mail domain names.

It doesn't have 100% of the time but currently its happening 90+% of the time. I can watch it happen.  The spam scores for commtouch/declude/sniffer are all 0.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

That really sounds like outlook behaviour, have you checked the logs to see if they hold any good info?

Outlook is not running on the computer in question. I turned it off for testing to make sure there was no other process.

It may be running on a different computer connected to his account. You must check the logs to know for sure what's happening.

Smartermail does not behave in the way you describe. Smartermail delivers messages directly to where it wants. Meaning if Smartermail thinks a message is spam then it goes there right away. Smartermail would never delivery to the inbox and move it afterwards.

I just changed the password on the account to make sure no one else knows the password. So that makes it so no other mail client can be changing anything. sound right? am I forgetting something?
