SmarterMail 13.x Features Request
Idea shared by M. Hussein - 11/4/2014 at 3:41 AM
Under Consideration
Hi,

I would like to request the following features to be add to SmarterMail 13.x  :

1- For Security reasons I hope to include IP Address / Country for events ( System and domain events for users' password changed and users forward changed ) to monitor where changes come from.

2- The new password features like ( expiration / block outgoing SMTP ) to be available for server & domain levels.

Thanks..

Hi,

For suggestion 1 this is a good feature request.  As for suggestion 2 this has been added into SmarterMail.  Here is a knowledge base article that goes into detail as to how to set that up.  http://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2750/set-up-a-password-policy.aspx

As Brian stated, we have included a plethora of new password features in SmarterMail 13, which was released yesterday.  As for your first suggestion, I will add it to our feature request list for further discussion with the dev. team for possible inclusion in a future release.  I am marking this a under consideration for now.
I see the option to expire passwords on a system level. But can it be added to domain level? For example, some customers may want to allow password changes and expiration to occur. Others don't.
Hi Robert

Thanks for adding my suggestion to feature request list ,

But as Chris Le said , we need more control to apply new passwords features to specific domains according to our customers needs , So we need some options at domain level to control the new password and expiration features.

This will be very useful.

Thanks.

I have added password requirements on a domain level to our feature requests list.
It would be nice to have the ability to make it so that we could have people log in only in a specified country as well. Being we have only one client that has users outside of the United States it would be nice to add a block for logins from outside of the United States except for the one domain.
Thanks Robert
It will be a good security idea to implement restrictions for accounts/domains logins from specified IPs/IP Range
