Hello,

can SmarterMail devs consider adding confirmation popup window when e-mail address is being added to Internal Blocked Senders list when pressing sender name/email and pressing block? This is not the first time when customer is sending support ticket with question why he is not receinving messages from certain e-mail addresses and after investigation email is placed on blocked senders list where customer is telling me that he has not added this address to this list.

Regards

We already have implemented a popup notification window whenever a sender is added to the internal blocked senders list.  It will be available in the next major release.

Hello,

it looks like you are talking about different feature. I was talking about blocking / unblocking sender from mail viewing form where at the top of message content we have message details like title, receive time, sender and recipient. When user is clicking on sender he has three options. Last one of them is possibility to block or unblock sender. Pressing this option is not showing any popup and it blocks sender quite silently (especially when user will press it and move cursor away from sender text representation). I had some support tickets from customers which was not receinving emails from certain email addresses and problem was that clients blocked this emails by mistake using this function. IMHO pressing block sender link should generate popup window with confirmation question.

I'm using SmarterMail 13.0.5430.

This feature has been implemented and you should be able to see it with the next minor release.

It also shows the same when you unblock someone, "You have unblocked some@email.com"

Shouldn't it say "Are you sure you want to block some@email.com?"

Hi Smarter Tools peeps.

Can we make this an optional pop up ? or something that says "dont show this again" ?
It doesn't really make sense that the "mark as spam" click instantly moves the email to the spam box without further interaction, but then click on "block sender" requires an additional click.

Also what would be nice is to do both in a single action. "block and mark as spam"
If necessary, this could be under an "advanced" menu entitled "Yes i know what i am doing, just do it."

Hi all,

Thank you for your feedback! In SmarterMail 16.x, the following confirmation window accompanies the Block Sender button:

That said, with the recent removal of Bayesian filtering, we have discussed some changes to the Block Sender / Mark Spam functionality, and we are open to additional modifications. Because there are so many threads throughout the Community relating to the Block Sender / Mark Spam functionality, we are creating one centralized thread, linked below, to continue the discussion and ensure we are meeting your needs. This thread and other threads related to the topic will be Locked so we can continue this discussion in one place.

Curtis, at this time, we are not inclined to make this popup optional. Given the large number of reports that users have unintentionally blocked messages from valid senders, we feel it's necessary to show the confirmation modal to ensure users understand that messages they mark as junk will no longer be sent to their Inbox. That said, we are open to discussions. Please join the conversation on the thread linked in my reply below.
