new messages indexing

I'm running SmarterMail server with thousands of mailboxes and some of the users keep complaining that search function doesn't return expected results. All the new messages aren't searchable. After some time the mailbox gets re-indexed and those messages show up.

The indexing queue is so long that it takes about 24 hrs for indexing service to re-index a mailbox. Changing indexing settings to allow more concurrent indexing threads would kill the server and actually doesn't solve the problem.

I wonder why new, incoming messages aren't indexed as they are saved into mailbox. Is there any settings switch to enable new message indexing?
I'm running SM 12.4 Ent.
