Duplicate Emails

Hi,

One of our client accidentally delete inbox folder so i restore his inbox folder via below KB article.

Article said that "When the emails are restored to the user's Temp folder, select them all and move them to the intended folder" so i start the process. It was taking time because total emails are 37,500. one of my colleague does not realize that i started the process so he again start the process. Now situation is client mailbox is full with 75000 emails and every email is duplicate. Its impossible to delete duplicate email via web interface.

Is there any Tool or script to delete all duplicate email? Please help me.

Why can't you just delete them all and do the restore again...

Hi Steve,

I am not able to restore emails again as my colleague delete the backup folder :(

now the only option is available delete the duplicate emails.

You can connect outlook 2013 to the account and use clean up folder to move duplicate email into the deleted items folder.

Please correct me if i am wrong, i need ActiveSync add on to configure mailbox on outlook 2013 or simple POP3/IMAP account download all emails and perform clean up folder.

I am using activesync however I believe imap should also work. Imap does not download emails, it works with emails on the server.

There're many third-party tools available in the market which can help you remove all duplicate emails and other items from Outlook PST. No idea for any script.

I never recommend any professional software to anyone when I have something better to share. Yes, you heard me right here. I'm talking about the manual trick which requires no paid utility, You just need to have Outlook client with a sound knowledge. No worries if you don't! I would like to share a blog post here in which you can read how to remove duplicate items from Outlook PST files.

When you can do this manually, why would you spend money on a paid utility? Think about it.
