Indexing service encountered a critical error and is stopping
Problem reported by Wei Feng Ding - 1/12/2015 at 2:42 PM
Not A Problem
The Smartermail indexing service stopped with an error after running for a year. I've tried to manually start the service many times, sometime it stop within a few seconds, sometimes a little longer. It seems it can still process some mailboxes in queue. I am using v11.7.5091

08:14:39 Indexing service encountered a critical error and is stopping: System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.

Hi Wei.  First thing I would recommend is performing all .NET 4 updates on the server, including any optional updates found in Windows Update.  If that doesn't resolve your issue, then you should submit a support ticket, as this might be a problem with that specific domain.

I've updated SM to 14.1 and .Net updates, I still get this error. It happened on two SM servers, the Indexing service stopped and can't manually start. I have to reboot the server to fix it. Is there a way to get this fix without reboot the server?
