Encrypted connection and direct delivery to prevent NSA spying
Question asked by Evaldas Jocys - 11/29/2013 at 1:29 PM

I've used another mail server before SmarterMail. It had two extra options for mail delivery "always send all outbound email directly to recipient's mail server" and another one was to force or use encrypted connection as a priority. I can't find these options on Smarter Mail. Am I missing something?

SmarterMail will attempt to deliver mail only to the servers listed as MX records for the domain you are sending to, and will attempt delivery to those servers directly. As to the TLS/SSL transmission of messages, this requires two steps:

1. Implement SSL/TLS on SMTP port 25 under Settings>Bindings>Ports
2. Navigate to Settings>Protocols>SMTP Out and verify the TLS options are enabled there.

I hope this helps but please let me know if you have any follow up questions.
