Does anyone here know SmarterMail User Limits?

Does anyone here know how many users (heavy webmail/IMAP/SMTP) and Activesync users can be put on a single server?

For example, our server:
E3 Xeon 3.6GHz (4 cores/8 threads)
24GB RAM DDR3-1600 Ram
(4) 4TB Western Digital RE4 7200RPM HDDs (SATA6GBps) in RAID10 for OS, Spool, and Data

Right now we have 2500 users and 500 ActiveSync users on it and its starting to crap out. Currently running SmarterMail 13

We are looking for an expert who can tell us what kind of hardware we need to support an X amount of users per server. Someone who has had experience scaling out to 10's of thousands or even 100's of thousands of users for an ISP. We are willing to pay for consultation fees.

Hi Chris,

This help document should be able to shed some light onto this for you: SmarterMail in High-Volume Deployments. I don't know the specs, but I do know that SmarterMail is capable of having more than 40,000 users on one server - and that's with the users relying on webmail, IMAP, lots of contacts, etc. When you remove those things and limit the server even more (users have no access to the Web interface, POP their messages to email clients, are not allowed to store anything on the server, etc.), I've heard of one instance with more than 100,000 users.
