Whitelist email address in contact list by default

Am I right in thinking smartermail does not check your contact list when checking for SPAM?

Seems very odd to me. It was something I raised a little while ago, but nothing seems to have come about.

With the ability to sync contacts to smartermail from a variety of devices, it would seem sensible to have a marker for emails that originate from an email address that is in your address book. Would be nice if that is configurable like the other spam weight settings.

It would really reduce the level of false positives I'm getting, and have been getting for years!

Thanks,

As far as I know having someone in your Contacts does not have any changes to the spam filtering. Only adding the contact to the Trusted Senders list would solve that problem. I like the idea of having a Contact be automatically considered a Trusted Sender.

Exactly! Who wants to login to webmail every time you need to add a trusted sender!

Any news on this? It seems pretty obvious to me!

I'd suggest to please consider my email Alias list also. I make up an alias for every company that requires my email address. If their spam gets to be too much or they sell the email address, I delete the alias.
I have almost 1000 now.

Also, give me a way to prefix the subject with a note of my choice please.

Note to Joe Wolf. Trusted senders to me get their emails forwarded to my phone, because they are extra special people.
