Use Who's On to Filter Website and Portal Visitors by the Pages They View

NOTE: Before completing these steps, you will need to configure Who's On for your website or portal. For instructions, refer to Configure Who's On to Track Visitors on Your Company’s Website.

SmarterTrack can monitor the visitors currently on your website and display useful information about each visitor, such as browser, IP Address, and even what country they are visiting from.

Applies to SmarterTrack 11.x-12.x

Enabling Who's On
  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the Configuration folder and click Who's On.
  4. Click Who's On Options.
  5. Select the Enable Who's On checkbox, and then click Save.
Creating a Filter
  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click Who's On icon 
  3. Click Action then Add filter in the content pane toolbar.
  4. In the Filter Name field, enter the name of the filter.
  5. Select which brand this filter will apply to in the Brand Filter field.
  6. Click the Conditions tab.
  7. Click Add Condition in the content pane toolbar.
  8. For the Field  select the field that is going to be filtered.
  9. For the Operator field, select the condition in which the field is filtered.
  10. For the Value field, Enter the criteria by which the field is grouped. For example, if the browser is the selected field, the value might be IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.
  11. Click Save.

Once the filter has been created, follow these steps to filter visitors by the Web pages they are currently viewing:

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as an agent or system administrator.
  2. Click the Who's On icon.
  3. Expand the desired brand. A list of all pages will display in the content pane.
  4. To see a list of visitors viewing a specific Web page, simply select the desired Web page.
  5. Select a specific user to view additional data.

Applies to SmarterTrack 10.x

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the System Settings and Who's On folders.
  4. Click Who's On Settings.
  5. Select the Enable Who's On checkbox, and then click Save.
  6. Click Who's On Filters in the navigation pane, if there are filters in place, these will be displayed in the content pane.
  7. Click New in the content pane toolbar.
  8. In the Filter Name field, enter the name of the filter.
  9. Select which brand this filter will apply to in the Brand Filter field.
  10. Click the Conditions tab.
  11. Click Add Condition in the content pane toolbar.
  12. For the Field field, select the field that is going to be filtered.
  13. For the Operator field, select the condition in which the field is filtered.
  14. For the Value field, Enter the criteria by which the field is grouped. For example, if the browser is the selected field, the value might be IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.
  15. Click Save.

Applies to SmarterTrack 6.x - 9.x

Follow these steps to create a Who's On filter in SmarterTrack.

  1. Log in to the SmarterTrack management interface as a system administrator.
  2. Click the settings icon.
  3. Expand the System Settings and Who's On folders.
  4. Click Who's On Filters in the navigation pane, if there are filters in place, these will be displayed in the content pane.
  5. Click New in the content pane toolbar.
  6. In the Filter Name field, enter the name of the filter.
  7. Select which brand this filter will apply to in the Brand Filter field.
  8. Click the Conditions tab.
  9. Click Add Condition in the content pane toolbar.
  10. For the Field field, select the field that is going to be filtered.
  11. For the Operator field, select the condition in which the field is filtered.
  12. For the Value field, Enter the criteria by which the field is grouped. For example, if the browser is the selected field, the value might be IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.
  13. Click Save.
