[17] EMail Signature can't be edited after insert
Problem reported by Martin Schaible - 1/22/2020 at 6:12 AM

Hello

Our users are having a lot of signatures, which must be edited after inserted in a new mail. They have placeholders eg, for the name of the recipient.

Now with version 17, the signature can't be edited after inserting in to a mail. Is this true?

Thanks!

Martin, by default the email signature is disabled from being edited which works, we've found, for the majority of our user base. However, there is a workaround if your customers require this.

1. Expand the toolbar.
2. Enter Code view mode.
3. Edit the signature body.
4. Exit the code view and the signature has been modified.

As I stated not having the signature being modifiable works for the majority of our user base, but the email editor has built-in functionality to allow for edits as needed.

I hope this helps.

I tested with a user, which have several signatures to choose from. Non of them can be edited anymore.

Hi Martin,

Another option for editing the signature is using the unlock icon in the toolbar.  After you expand the toolbar, just click the lock icon and you should be able to edit the signature.

Hi Emily

This looks good, but the lock is not available. I tried several users by impersonating.

Martin,

It looks like you are editing the signature itself.  The lock icon should be visable when you are composing an email.
