Exchange active sync with Oulook v16??
Question asked by Mike Ingram - May 2 at 12:16 PM
I'll try again here - I asked a question in April about syncing version 16 with Outlook 2013/16 and how things are going with this (are you testing this???)... Are you guys putting effort into exchange activesync with regards to Outlook or just pushing Version 16 as a webmail product? Are you building a plugin or something like most other alternative mail servers use with Outlook? Just want to know if I should look at this again for my more corporate clients that use Outlook or stick with other solutions.
THANKS! I will say the interface is much better and things are looking good so far. Any update on exchange active sync and outlook would be appreciated....

Hey Mike,
Thanks for reaching out! The main focus for SmarterMail 16.x has been on the user interface redesign, ease of administration, introduction of web conferencing -- like screen sharing and video chat -- and exposing all interface functionality to the API. At this moment, we are not developing a plugin or email client alternative; however, by exposing all functionality to the API, we'll have unlocked endless possibilities for companies or administrators to create their own tools / clients or expand the reach of their system with new integrations.
That said, we have made improvements to SmarterMail's syncing functionality with substantial changes to the EWS protocol. EAS also saw some updates, and improvements for both of these protocols should be pushed to version 15.x as well.
I hope this helps!
