Spam quarantine question
Question asked by Jay Altemoos - 10/5/2016 at 1:31 PM
Answered
This might be a stupid question, but I am going to ask anyways. What is the Spam Quarantine section used for under the spool section? Is this for outgoing spam? The reason I ask is because I see that the SM spam filtering is trapping spam but this screen never shows anything. It's always shows 0.

I was hoping that maybe it was for incoming spam and I could search through to find out if an email got trapped for a particular user instead of sifting through my delivery logs.

Hi Linda. Thank you for chiming in. That answered my question. Thank you. It appears it's only for outgoing spam and nothing trapped by SM that is incoming to a user. It could be a handy feature to include both or have a separate section a system admin could look at fir specific spam that was incoming.

You're welcome Jay. Yes, I agree with you there! Perhaps SmarterTools will add inbound in a future release.

Agreed, this would be a great feature. We have fairly strict SPAM rules so we occasionally have false positives and it would be great to be able to retrieve these mails.
