SpamAssassin in a Box help..?

Hi all --

So I've read bits n pieces about SpamAssassin and I'm looking to import the SAIB download found here (http://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2718/install-and-configure-spamassassin-virtual-appliance.aspx?KBSearchID=656620), but I'm getting nothing but errors.  Running on ESXi 5, I've tried importing the vmx directly, and also tried creating my own vm, but importing just the disk from the download.  Both times I get the error

Failed to open disk scsi0:0: Unsupported or invalid disk type 7. Ensure that the disk has been imported.

I understand SA can improve spam filtering, which we really really need.  I've followed Bruce's much-appreciated document, but some of my users are still getting more than a hundred crap emails per day.  Since the SAIB download is available from smartertools.com, I'm assuming it's a supported thing, tho aside from the link above, there's an odd lack of mention about it around here.  Is it a recommended thing?  Are there any other help docs hidden around here somewhere? Anyone have any success with the SAIB download/import?

Thanks

We use SAIB.  Have it on 4 boxes.   SM can integrate it.  The link is

ooh.. i'll look into that directly from jam software.. with the link and download mentioned in my post, I assumed it was offered/supported by SmarterTools...

Do you run SAIB directly on your SM server, or is it best to have a second dedicated box? (we have only one domain with under 100 users on our SM server)..

For 100 users or so, you could probably run it on the same box...  It does take some resources, but not that much.
We have 3 inbound servers.. dedicated to inbound mail (gateways) ...  each has SAIB; then the gateways funnel the email to the primary server... which has access to an SAIB too.

Well that was an easy install.. hah    I'm currently on the free trial and can see the log filling up, although, it seems like only about 75-85% of my msgs are being logged/checked..

If you wouldn't mind, to confirm that I've got things as they should be:
 - In Security -> Advanced -> SpamAssassin Servers, I've got the server added at 127.0.0.1:783
 - In Antispam Admin -> Spam Checks, I've checked Remote SpamAssassin, Enable for Filtering, but left the weights/settings as they were, 10/20/30...)

Is that all I need to do?  Do the weights need to be changed?

Thanks
