IMAP SYNCRONIZATION

Hello, I have smartermail 13.4 running on my server and its working fine. I have my account setup as IMAP on my computer and on my smartphone. When I receive an email, and I read it in my computer, it does not mark as read on my smartphone or vice-versa. However if I delete an email on my computer it does delete on my smartphone. 
 
I was wondering what do I have to do in order to synchronize read status across devices using IMAP?
 
Any help would greatly appreciate it
