Customizable Webmail Client

In Progress
Hi Guys,
Could you look into allowing further customizations to the webmail interface. At the moment I have done a lot of custom CSS which looks great so thanks for adding that feature however I would love to be able to add/remove buttons, include font-awesome icons, and here's a long shot: be able to integrate other services.
With all due respect to the designers at SmarterTools I think they have done a great job however I don't think its for everyone you know ? So why not allow your customers to make SmarterMail 'their own' ?
Look at Inbox by Google for example, that webmail interface looks incredible! Id love to have a bit more freedom with the SmarterMail web clients look and feel. WHMCS for example allow you to build whatever you want to out of their software!
From an systems admin perspective, I LOVE SmarterMail ! From a developers perspective, I wish I could make it look a bit more 'up to date'.
Maybe you guys could look into this :) I think if the next version of SmarterMail hasn't yet caught up to the latest trends in user interface design its going to get left behind. One way to combat this may be to allow the end user to do their own design rather than you trying to come up with a design that everyone has to love.
Just a thought :)

We are more 'CSS' challenged than you... and tried to do own CSS, but didn't accomplish what we had desired.
We had wanted to remove some buttons, and add some our functions/buttons - but that didn't happen.
Customization would be good.

What are the chances this proposal will be considered in SmarterMail 14.x ... ? :D
Will 14.x at least have a more 'up to date' UI design ? What about a responsive web mail ?

Inbox for Gmail which was acquired from Timeful is a great concept.
Google won't offer it as their only web mail solution.
Microsoft won't replace the way Outlook for the desktop works.
SmarterMail can't replace how we provide Webmail.
New concepts and methods to work in mail usually get about 10% adoption right off that bat.  Over the years that percentage starts to increase if that company sticks around or in Google's case keeps the project going.
What we plan to do, is continue to improve our Webmail interface.  We intend to make it faster, lighter and more functional.  We intend to make it more intelligent as we index more of the email messages so we can provide more proactive information etc.  But we can't completely change the experience of MAIL!
At SmarterTools, we have a different vision of Email, Facebook, Twitter and overall communication.  We are on the fence about trying to develop a client for Windows, OS X that not only works with SmarterMail but other mail servers as well.  We believe there is a better way to work but this wouldn't something people HAD to use but could choose to use.
If you have specific features that you would like to see evolve in Webmail, please create a thread for EACH feature so we can discuss and pick the most popular of the suggestions.

Hi everyone,
Thank you for your feedback! I wanted to make you aware that SmarterMail 16.x, which is currently in BETA, will introduce a completely new and modern interface. We aimed for one that is more user-friendly, touch compatible and responsive across desktop, tablet and mobile alike, making the information look essentially the same across a number of different screen sizes.
In addition to the new interface design, SmarterMail 16.x will expose ALL functionality to the API. That means that EVERY aspect of SmarterMail will be exposed to web service calls, allowing companies to build upon our platform however they want. Whether it’s a completely new email client someone builds for SmarterMail or an integration with a customer service platform or billing system, ANYTHING will be possible.
Stay tuned for the final release of SmarterMail 16.x -- coming within the first quarter of 2017!
