SmarterTrack allows email importing using the POP3 protocol. Administrators can choose to leave the messages on the server or to delete them when they're imported into SmarterTrack. When connecting to a mailbox hosted by Gmail; however, even if the administrator unchecks "Leave Messages on Server," intending for them to be deleted, the email may persist in the mailbox. This is due to the way that Gmail handles email processing on their end.

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:
- Instruct Gmail to delete email after it is downloaded. For more information on how this is done, see Google's instructions, Deleting messages in Gmail after POP downloads.
- Change "Leave Messages on Server" checked in SmarterTrack.
