Import Mailbox Data to SmarterMail from Office 365

Migrating from Office 365 is easy. However, there are a few things that aren't as clear-cut as moving from an Exchange server or from a mail service such as Gmail. Below is a step-by-step for anyone migrating from Office 365 to SmarterMail using the mailbox migration utility:

  1. Log in to SmarterMail using the email address you're migrating to.
  2. Click on the Settings icon
  3. Select Connectivity from the navigation pane.
  4. Find the Mailbox Migration card, and click the Migrate button to open the migration modal.
  5. Select Microsoft Exchange from the list of services displayed.
  6. Be sure to have the proper account and server information before you begin the migration process. You can find this by logging in to your Office 365 account. Once you log in to your Office 365 account you can get the server address from the log in URL. For example, if your log in url is something like, you will want to use "" as the Server Address you're migrating from.
  7. Use your domain name as the Domain for the migration. For example, if you log in with you'll just need to use for the domain.
  8. Use the full email address you use to log in to Office 365 as your Username. For example,
  9. Enable the Requires SSL toggle.
  10. If you are moving to a brand new account in SmarterMail, there's no need to check the box next to "Delete existing SmarterMail mailbox items."
  11. From there, the rest is easy. Just click the Migrate button to start the migration process.
